Privacy Policy
Turbine Last Updated: May 7, 2026
1. Overview
Turbine ("the App") is a third-party Steam client built for Apple platforms. We believe in keeping things simple and transparent: we collect very little data, we do not sell your information, and we do not use third-party tracking or analytics.
2. Information We Collect
a) Server Logs
When you use Turbine to fetch Steam data, our servers make requests to Valve's Steam Web API on your behalf. These requests are logged and may include:
Your Steam ID (SteamID) — a unique public identifier associated with your Steam account
Timestamp of the request
Type of data requested (e.g., profile, library, achievements)
Standard technical metadata (e.g., IP address, request status)
These logs are used solely for debugging, security monitoring, and maintaining the reliability of the App. We do not use your SteamID or log data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.
Log data is retained for a limited period for operational purposes and is then deleted.
b) Apple Analytics
If you have opted in to share analytics with developers on your Apple device, we receive anonymized, aggregated diagnostics and usage data through Apple's standard app analytics framework. This data:
Cannot be used to identify you personally
Is provided and controlled entirely by Apple
Is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
We do not use any other analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry tools.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:
We do not collect your Steam account password or login credentials
We do not store your personal profile information (name, avatar, etc.) beyond the duration of a session
We do not collect location data
We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party trackers
We do not build behavioral profiles or sell data to any third party
We use this data only to operate and improve the App.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
With Valve Corporation — your SteamID is transmitted to Valve as part of Steam API requests. This is governed by Valve's own Steam Privacy Policy.
Legal compliance — if required by law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose information as necessary.
5. Data Retention
Server logs containing SteamIDs, a publicly accessible value, are retained for 1 year and then automatically deleted. We do not retain any personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary for operational purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:
Request access to data we hold about you
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent at any time
To make a request, contact us at thepocketlabs@gmail.com. Since the only identifier we log is your SteamID, please include it in your request so we can locate the relevant records.
8. Children's Privacy
Turbine is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Third-Party Services
Turbine interacts with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Valve / Steam
Apple
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We do not collect your email as an effort to have as little information on hand as possible, so please check this privacy policy from time to time.
